How to become a back-end developer?

A back-end developer is a person who is responsible for the functionality of a website. He writes the business logic for a website. He is the person who integrates the front end of a website with the database and the business logic.
The back-end developer should be familiar with atleast one of these programming languages :-

• PHP
• Java
• Python
• .Net
• Ruby

He must also be familiar with database access and manipulation. He must have knowledge of one or more databases like MySQL, Oracle, etc. The back-end developer works at the server side.
